JK Rowling has released an open letter slamming the signatories of a pro-trans letter, suggesting their support is based on fear, not bravery. The famed author lit up social media, denouncing the notion that people can change their sex and insisted binary sex is an undeniable reality. This response lands amid Emma Watson's recent Instagram statement challenging those who prefer her silence on political matters: "To the person who said they like me best when I am not ranting about politics: I like me best when I am not ignoring fascism."

The storm intensified as Sean Biggerstaff, known for his role in the Harry Potter films, took to social media with a scathing attack on Rowling, labelling her a 'bigoted obsessed billionaire,' all due to her controversial opinions on trans rights. Rowling has hinted at betrayal from 'back-stabbing colleagues' in her essay but stopped short of naming individuals directly, leaving many to wonder if there was a feud among the cast of the beloved film series, reports Birmingham Mail.

Her letter comes as a sharp critique amidst the wake of a Supreme Court ruling aligning with her views – that the term 'women' should be exclusively tied to biological sex as per the 2010 Equality Act.

She ended her missive with reflective questions on integrity, asking her detractors if they'll ever comprehend the gravity of their current path or feel any remorse for their choices.

In contrast, the aforementioned open letter called upon industry elites to stand with the trans community, reflecting a divided industry on this deeply sensitive subject.

Over the weekend, author responded to an open letter in an essay, suggesting signatories might be motivated by fear.

She expressed skepticism about the intentions behind their support, stating: "I often wonder whether the signatories of such letters have to quieten their consciences before publicly boosting a movement intent on removing women's and girls' rights, which bullies gay people who admit openly they don't want opposite sex partners, and campaigns for the continued sterilisation of vulnerable and troubled kids."

She also challenged their convictions by asking: "Do they feel any qualms at all while chanting the foundational lie of their religion: Trans Women are Women, Trans Men are Men?"

Among those who endorsed the letter were prestigious figures such as Eddie Redmayne of Fantastic Beasts fame, Katie Leung from the Harry Potter saga, and Charlotte Ritchie, known for the Ghosts series and a cameo in Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire. Furthermore, Bridgerton's Bessie Carter—daughter of Harry Potter's Dolores Umbridge actress Dame Imelda Staunton—and Daisy Haggard of Breeders, who also voiced the Ministry Of Magic lift, lent their signatures to the document.
