Donald Trump has launched a news aggregator platform designed to rival Drudge, bypass the mainstream media and flood the internet with pro-Trump headlines. The site, which debuted this week, aggregates content from right-wing outlets like Fox News and The Daily Caller, alongside White House-published material, creating an unfiltered echo chamber for his supporters. The move is part of Mr Trump’s long-running feud with what he calls the "fake news" media. “The media is the enemy of the people,” he declared in 2019, and now he’s built his own outlet to deliver the narrative he wants — free from critical voices.

A social media post from the administration, pushing the platform as the place for Mr Trump’s supporters to find “the real news”, announced: "The White House has its own wire now." The White House Wire mirrors the Drudge Report in both style and substance, with its large, bold headlines and right-wing slant - and it appears the comparison is not accidental.

Mr Trump once praised Drudge as a key ally in his rise, but the site’s recent shift in tone left a gap that The White House Wire aims to fill. It’s a clear move to take control of the media narrative and keep his base fully aligned with his messaging.

The platform’s launch was met with mockery from Drudge Report founder Matt Drudge, who blasted Mr Trump’s new venture as “TRUMP LAUNCHING HIS OWN DRUDGE REPORT USING TAXPAYER DOLLARS!” Trump’s media strategy has been anything but subtle.

He has already sued multiple outlets, including CBS and ABC, winning a $16 million (£12m) settlement from the latter.

The President has also excluded Associated Press journalists from White House events and launched probes into outlets like NBC, PBS, and NPR.

The White House has long sought to sidestep traditional media - Truth Social for instance is a social media platform launched by Donald Trump as a conservative alternative to mainstream networks like Twitter and Facebook.

It aims to provide a space for users who feel censored by traditional platforms, promoting what it calls "free speech" without moderation from Big Tech.

In an administration built on attacking the press, this new platform gives Mr Trump a direct way to engage with his supporters without the filter of mainstream outlets.

Speaking six years ago, Mr Trump said: “Fake news is doing everything in their power to stop us from getting our message out."

The White House Wire insists it will be "100 percent pro-Trump," positioning itself as a completely partisan platform designed to push the president's narrative without any critical voices.

As his media war intensifies, Mr Trump’s supporters have a direct pipeline to the content that aligns with his worldview, while his critics face an ever-growing divide between them and the president’s messages.
