Tesco has increased the price of one of its meal deals by 25%, adding £3 onto the previous price as it announces a slew of new menu options for shoppers to choose from. The Tesco Finest dine-in meal deal for two previously cost £12, allowing customers to get one main dish, one side dish, one dessert and one drink. Now, as the retailer introduces new options for at-home diners to choose from as part of the deal, it will cost £15.
The supermarket has added nine new menu items in total, increasing the availability of options within the deal for Tesco customers who use their clubcard. There are a range of new seasonal dishes available for customers as part of the meal deal, including the Pork Crackling Joint with Norfolk Cider Jus. Priced at £7.50 when it is sold on its own, the new dish consists of slow-cooked pork belly with crispy crackling and a creamy pork and cider sauce.
There is also the Manchego Stuffed Chicken Breasts which features two chicken breasts filled with cheddar cheese, full-fat soft cheese, Manchego, and red pepper melt in a sundried tomato sauce, accompanied by marinated semi-dried cherry tomatoes with a smoked paprika and chilli sprinkle.
Other additions include Ranch Steak with Cafe De Paris Melt, Creamy Chicken, Bacon and Leek Pie, and Beef Brisket with Bone Marrow and Cabernet Sauvignon Sauce.
Customers can pair these mains with some of the popular side dish options such as the Creamed Spinach, Creamy Buttery Mash and Triple Cook Chips with Cornish Sea Salt. Meanwhile, desserts on the menu include the Dark Chocolate Mirror Glaze Cheesecake Slices, Sticky Toffee Pudding and Mixed Berry Trifles.
In terms of new desserts, there is the new Lemon and Stem Ginger Posset, which blends whipping cream with Sicilian lemon juice and crystallised stem ginger pieces.
While one dessert is included in the meal deal, they are priced at £3.50 when sold individually. Meanwhile, customers can opt for alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink options.
As part of the dine-in meal deal, shoppers can get four 250ml bottles of Coca-Cola, two 750ml bottles of Green Twin, a bottle of Tesco Finest Cinsault Rose or a bottle of Tesco Finest Sauvignon Blanc.
