On the south coast of England between two much more popular towns, Hastings and Eastbourne, this East Sussex retreat is renowned for a slower pace of life. Crudely nicknamed "god's waiting room" due to its older population, Bexhill-on-Sea is known for its laid-back vibe, with none of the bustling crowds. Its shingle beach, which stretches approximately two miles, is the gem of Bexhill, being one of the town's highest-rated experiences on Tripadvisor.  

Visitors can stroll along the seafront to soak up stunning views across the English Channel, take a cold-water dip in the quiet waters, or rent quaint beach huts to fully embrace the British seaside holiday.

With historic architecture throughout the town, Bexhill oozes nostalgic charm that's amplified by its quaint shops, tearooms, and independent cafes.

Known for its artsy scene, De La Warr Pavilion - a modernist Grade I listed building - often hosts contemporary art exhibitions, live music and theatre events, and it is also the town’s most iconic structure.

Just a short walk from the beach, Egerton Park is the ideal place for a quiet stroll or picnic, with plenty of open green space, a boating lake, playgrounds, tennis courts, and a café.

The town has a local train station, and it is served by bus connections locally.
