Royal fans were delighted today after Kensington Palace released a new portrait of Prince Louis to mark his seventh birthday. The Prince and Princess of Wales took to their social media on Wednesday morning to upload a new snap of the young royal taken by Josh Shinner.
They captioned the post: "Wishing Prince Louis a very Happy 7th Birthday! [birthday cake emoji]". Louis was pictured sitting on a tree trunk, smiling and showing a gap for his two front teeth. The young prince is dressed in an open-necked checked shirt, dark green jumper and blue jeans, with the woodland backdrop showing a carpet of bluebells. The photo was taken earlier this month in Norfolk.
Royal fans could not contain their excitement over how "grown-up" the young prince looked, while several of them took to social media to praise him on his "missing teeth".
One user wrote on X: "Prince Louis growing up. In long trousers (jeans even) and awaiting new front teeth. Terrific photo."
A second person added: "Happy Birthday to Prince Louis!! Such a handsome and adorable little fellow!! I love the picture!! Missing his two front teeth couldn’t be any cuter!!!"
A third one commented: "Aww what a beautiful picture!!! His adorable toothless smile. He isn’t a little baby anymore! Happy birthday Prince Louis."
While a fourth person said: "Oh now wonderful! He’s lost his teeth! He’s gorgeous."
A fifth fan chimed: "What a handsome young boy and that smile is adorable! Happy birthday to Prince Louis."
Others praised him on his looks, with one fan writing: "OMG he’s suddenly all grown up. Happy birthday to Prince Louis!!"
Another person added: "On my GOSH! He's grown SO MUCH!"
The Royal Family's official accoint also shared its congratulations to Louis, reposting the image and adding "Happy Birthday to Prince Louis" followed by a balloon and celebration emojis.
Louis, who is known for his cheeky antics on the Palace balcony, is fourth in line to the throne.
He was born on St George's Day, April 23, in 2018, at the private Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London, weighing 8lb 7oz.
