Prince George sparked a fan frenzy on Tuesday night as he joined Prince William at Villa Park in Birmingham to watch their beloved Aston Villa take on PSG. Sadly, the game ended in heartbreak, with a 4-5 defeat on aggregate. Even though they didn't get the result they wanted, 11-year-old George was surrounded by some of his family's very close friends - including his godfather, The Duke of Westminster.

Despite being chosen as one of George's seven godparents when he was born in 2013, Tuesday night's game is thought to have marked one of the first times the young royal has been pictured with his godfather in public.

The Duke, who is known as Hugh Grosvenor in his working life, was also joined at the game by his wife, Olivia, Duchess of Westminster, at the game as it marked one of their first appearances since announcing the happy news that they are expecting their first child later this year.

Hugh succeeded his father and became the 7th Duke of Westminster when the former Duke sadly died from a heart attack at the age of 64 back in 2016.

At the time of his succession, he inherited an estimated wealth of £9 billion and gained several new estates. He is also known by the titles of Marquess of Westminster, Earl Grosvenor, Viscount Belgrave and Baron Grosvenor. Hugh also became the head of The Grosvenor Group upon his father's death, which means he owns several huge areas of London, as well as land and over 1,500 buildings all across the world.

As well as being George’s godfather, it has been reported that he also plays the role for Prince Harry's son, Prince Archie.

Royal fans were thrilled to see the young royal at the game and quickly took to social media to share their delight.

"I love how much they love Aston Villa!," wrote one. "William is a lucky man... creating great memories with his first baby who is also a big Villa fan."

A second agreed, saying: "The Princes wear their hearts on their sleeves."

A third quipped: "George looks really tall!!" While a final added: "What a handsome young man."
