McDonald's in Earlswood has far more than you can imagine. The fast food branch is housed in an old Victorian pub on Horley Road in Redhill, East Surrey, and welcomes more than 640,000 customers a year. However, the McDonald's fans visiting this particular restaurant have more than the typical McDonald's experience. Surrounded by lush greenery and wildlife, boasting sash windows and an ornate white entrance porch, Horley Road's McDonald's is often referred to as "Britian's prettiest McDonald's", as reported by The Sun.

The building was constructed in the 1820s. It was originally home to the Prince Albert pub before it became a Mongolian barbecue restaurant and then a McDonald's in the early 2000s. In recent years, the exterior has returned to its former glory, with original brickwork revealed. A beautiful outdoor patio area also features wooden tables and chairs overlooking a field and woods.

"The outside space is lovely in the summer and if you sit there long enough you can see a whole fields of rabbits," said local resident Mike Edwards.

"It's very pleasant and calming. There is also a playground close by so I often used to bring my kids here for lunch, then take them to the playground."

A regular, who did not want to be named, said he had travelled all around the UK for work and thought it was the "prettiest McDonald's" adding that "it's in the perfect spot."

McDonald's Franchisee March Schweizer owns and operates the restaurant as well as 17 others in and around Surrey. He said: "I've been the proud local owner of the Earlswood restaurant since 2021, and the building has undergone various improvements within that time.

"This includes restoring the exterior to its former glory, and reinvesting in the interior to help deliver a better experience for customers and crew as part of our Convenience of the Future revamp programme."
