A new Restaurant Cost Report created by Online Marketing Surgery in partnership with MG Timber has revealed the cheapest town in the UK for a three-course meal for two. This report highlights the areas offering the best value for a mid-range restaurant experience, with Craigavon, Northern Ireland, coming out on top with its meals being £10 cheaper than the towns that followed in the ranking: Grays, Sevenoaks, and Weymouth.

The data for the report was collated from Numbeo in March 2025, focusing on the average price of a three-course meal for two at mid-range restaurants in cities and towns across the UK. Craigavon is named after Lord Craigavon, the first Prime Minister of Northern Ireland and is also known for its nearby lakes, parks, and woodlands, as well as being an important industrial hub. 

Traditional dishes in the area include stews and boxty, which is a traditional potato pancake usually served with meal or vegetables.

On the banks of the River Bann, The Potbelly Restaurant is a well-known spot which is located in a historic riverside mill dating back to the 1800s.

This charming setting offers a menu full of local dishes, including slow-cooked silverside of beef, Irish steaks, and Potbelly chicken.

Another popular place in County Down is Pretty Mary’s known for its cozy atmosphere, good prices, and excellent food and is often a local staple for Sunday roasts, craft beers, and hearty meals.

Beyond its restaurants, Lough Neagh is just a short drive away and is the largest freshwater lake in the British Isles and a must-see for anyone visiting the area.

You can enjoy scenic walks along the shoreline, birdwatching, and even take part in water activities like kayaking or fishing.

The UK's most expensive place for a three-course meal was Greenwich in London, where the average price for a meal for two soared to an eye-watering £150, followed by Lewisham at £120.
