The relatives of a cryptocurrency tycoon escaped a terrifying attempted kidnapping in Paris on Tuesday. The incident, which happened at approximately 8.20am local time (7.20am BST) on May 13 in Rue Pache, reportedly saw three men trying to force a woman into a van.
The kidnappers are reported to have tried to snatch a 34-year-old woman and her two-year-old child and bungle them into a van.
The three-masked kidnappers were foiled in their attempts by the brave intervention of the woman's husband.
The man went to the aid of his wife, becoming involved in a fierce fight with the assailants, one of whom reportedly dropped his handgun.
The would-be kidnappers were forced to retreat to their vehicle and drove off empty handed.
Passers-by watched on in horror as the inident unfolded, too scared to intervene.
