The Chase star Darragh Ennis has opened up on having to "ban" some fans from requesting personalised video. The 44-year-old Irishman loves to interact with his fans so when they send him requests on Cameo he usually happily obliges.

However, he shared a few instances where he felt like he had no option but to say no. Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk at one of his quiz nights, in Southport's Atkinson theatre, Darragh explained: "Cameos… some of them have been strange requests. Cameo, for people who don’t know, is a video messaging app where people can request messages like ‘can you say happy birthday to my mother’. You record a video and they pay a small fee and then they get the video."

"But some people ask the weirdest things," he continued. "One person asked me to do a eulogy for their father, who had died. As gently as I could, I turned that down.

"I had one person who asked for so many that I had to cut them off because they started asking me like ‘what did you have for breakfast this morning?’ And they’re not very expensive, it’s like £20 or something, but I’m not going to exploit someone who has clearly got a problem. So I’ve had to cut some people off, because they ask mad stuff."

Darragh's Cameo profile reads: "In his personalised videos, Darragh often gets requests to send birthday wishes, congratulations, and motivational messages to fellow Chase superfans.

"He's frequently asked to mention specific TV shows, sports teams, or even try out some foreign language skills. Darragh's videos are always a hit - he has a way of making each one feel personal and heartwarming, no matter the occasion."

The quizzer recently invited live audiences across the nation to take part in his Ultimate Pub Quiz tour. He put on six shows, with visits to Barnard Castle, Sheffield, Bedford, Liverpool, Southport and Manchester, with tickets costing £20 which also included a meet and greet with the star himself.

The nights, which were full of banter, were led by Darragh who hosted multiple rounds of questions spanning general knowledge, pop culture, history, and more. Customers can sign up to the mailing list to hear about future pub quiz dates. An Ireland tour is to be announced in September, followed by an extended UK run in Spring 2026.
