Gnocchi is a versatile dish loved by people around the world thanks to its delightful texture and simple base. The comforting dish which straddles the line between pasta and potato is like a warm hug on a winter evening or a refreshing dish on a summer afternoon.

Getting the texture right on this Italian dish can be difficult as you want it to be light and fluffy on the inside yet lovely and golden on the outside. Many of us may reach for our trusty pan when making this staple dinner but we may be better off swerving towards the air fryer for crispier results. Culinary expert, Healthful Blondie who helps make simple and delicious dishes, recommends air-frying your gnocchi by following a simple recipe that takes less than 15 minutes to make.

Perfect for those mid-week dinners where you're pushed for time, this “easiest and crispiest air fryer gnocchi recipe” requires just a handful of ingredients and your friends will even be begging you to make it again and again.

“Once you try this air fryer gnocchi, you'll never want to make it another way”, says Healthful Blondie.

The food expert adds: “It is ultra-crispy on the outside, super soft and pillowy on the inside, and coated in lots of yummy spices. I make this recipe at least twice weekly; all my friends beg me to make it now.”

To make this gamechanger recipe you can use fresh or frozen gnocchi and if you're feeling extra inspired you can even make your own.

Grab an air-fryer, mixing bowl, tongs, parchment paper and ¼ teaspoon, one teaspoon and one tablespoon.

You’ll need just six ingredients: gnocchi olive oil, garlic powder, salt, pepper and parmesan cheese to give it that comforting cheesy flavour.

First, you need to preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200C) and lightly grease the basket with olive oil spray.

Then toss the gnocchi with the rest of the ingredients in a large mixing bowl.

Next, add seasoned gnocchi to the preheated air fryer. Healthful Blondie recommends trying to avoid overlapping because they won't get as crispy.

Then air fry it at 390°F for 11 - 14 minutes, shaking the basket every four to five minutes so they are perfectly crispy on all sides.

“The gnocchi is done when the outsides are golden (not burned) and crispy”, says the expert.

Once your gnocchi is a beautiful golden colour you can take it out and garnish it with extra parmesan cheese and fresh parsley to give it a touch more flavour.
