The £300m super jet that may soon be gifted to the US President Donald Trump by the Qatari royal family is a "trojan horse", according to British-Israeli self-proclaimed 'psychic' Uri Geller. Reports emerged yesterday that the Middle Eastern country's Al Thani family were planning to give Mr Trump the plane, described as a "flying palace". However, those reports have since been branded "inaccurate by Qatari officials.

Nevertheless, Ali Al-Ansari, Qatar’s Media Attaché to the US, told Politico that there was a deal on the table for the plane. “The possible transfer of an aircraft for temporary use as Air Force One is currently under consideration between Qatar’s Ministry of Defense and the U.S. Department of Defense, but the matter remains under review by the respective legal departments, and no decision has been made,” he said.

One person who is hoping Mr Trump does not accept the Qatari jet is Mr Geller. Mr Geller, best-known for his bending spoon trick, claimed on X: "I am telling you @realDonaldTrump, do NOT accept this luxury plane from #Qatar! It is a Trojan Horse! Look what #Mossad did with simple pagers! Qatar could easily do the same to your plane! Or they could bug it! This is not a 'gift'! This is a bribe, in my opinion. You are being bought!

"What does Qatar get in return? To spread radical Islam in the US? Qatar supports #Hamas, al-Qaeda, Islamic State, the Muslim Brotherhood – and #Iran! Can you imagine if #Netanyahu offered you a luxury plane? The world would go mad! Do not take it!"

The warning was posted as Mr Geller spoke in front of a Donald Trump impressionist.

Mr Trump attacked critics of the proposed deal on his social media platform, Truth Social.

He wrote: "So the fact that the Defense Department is getting a GIFT, FREE OF CHARGE, of a 747 aircraft to replace the 40 year old Air Force One, temporarily, in a very public and transparent transaction, so bothers the Crooked Democrats that they insist we pay, TOP DOLLAR, for the plane. Anybody can do that! The Dems are World Class Losers!!! MAGA."

However, there are concerns that if the plane is gifted to the President, it will contravene the US Constitution. Under the Constitution’s emoluments clause, a government official is prohibited from accepting gifts from “any King, Prince or foreign State.”
